It was better than I was expecting, but it just wasn't quite right. It did make Boone and I realize our priorities when it comes to what we want in our home though.
This home was beautiful and decorated wonderfully. BUT...
I HAVE to have a mudroom. In this house, you walk directly from the garage into the narrow laundry room which doubles as a mudroom and there wasn't enough space to bump it to create more space.
The main entry, the space on the left side really does have to be used as a formal dining room. Trying to make it a practice space would be a nightmare. It would be in the main part of the house. Not private at all. We like a quiet space, free of distractions.
The master bathroom did flow into the walk-in closet, expect there wasn't a water closet for the toilet. Major bummer for me. Boone and I like to be in the bathroom at the same time, but we like privacy when using the commode (don't we all??).
Otherwise, this home was beautiful. the foyer and main floor living room were two-stories (something we definitely would love), the kitchen was light and airy. Great light. The stairwell was open and beautiful. The office was separate enough that it would be quiet for Boone. The second floor rooms were a great size.
Loved the look-out basement. Plus, in the basement, there was a way to convert the guest room into a studio space and the bathroom downstairs was fantastic. Can't complain. Lots of built in storage too.
Kinda ready to look at more homes, but nothing on the market is striking my fancy. I'm not sure if I want to wait for homes to come on the market or if we want to look for lots to start a building process. So much to think about right now.
Really glad we went though.
