One Year at Home

It's been one year since we moved to our new home.  It's comforting knowing that with our year anniversary, we have officially set in our roots.

I started a photography class again and am starting to relax.  Hopefully nothing crazy starts to happen, because isn't it when you relax when something crazy happens?

I decided that I'd try to take photos of our home each year that we live here.  Starting with our kitchen, dining and living rooms.
I chose the light above the dining table because it reminded me of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France and I thought my mother-in-law would have loved it.  After months of sitting without a design style to speak of, it gave me some direction.  So happy with where I'm headed now.  Amazing what a light fixture can do.

Simple lights over the island are very easy to clean.

Outer cabinetry is white with dark countertops.  Island is dark cabinetry with a light top.
Each week, one member of the family gets to put a quote on the chalkboard.  Super love.

I don't think I will ever regret raising our fireplace and having the matching granite top.

 Foyer is simple and large.
Another angle of the foyer.  Found a bench at Target on sale!

Up next, the owner's suite!
